You
don't have to play golf to dine and enjoy the clubhouse. The 39-acre 18-hole course will soon have a clubhouse with "the best view in
town."
A
grassroots group got together in 2007, and their dreams and plans are coming to
fruition. About $5MM in private funds
was raised. Hall of Fame golfer Ray
Floyd has done the design pro bono and helped to raise money for the project. Three
years ago the course had a redo adding salt-tolerant greens. The 2-story Key West-style clubhouse of about
6650 sq ft cost abut $3.1MM. There will
be a golf store/souvenir shop and lounges for men and for women, with Pizza al
Fresco on the top. Breakfast, lunch and
dinner will be served. There will be 100
seats on the balcony and 54 inside, including 12 bar stools.
The
dining room is expected to be very busy as there are not many restaurants along
that stretch of A1A. Opening is expected
on January 17th at 4 pm. Come and join the crowd! It's time for fun!
