RENOVATIONS WILL CLOSE COLONY HOTEL TO GUESTS FOR FIVE WEEKS

According to the Sun Sentinel, the Colony's Vice President and General Manager says, "Each room and suite is different — no cookie-cutter rooms here — put together with a lot of vivid upholstery, unique lamps and artwork, many by local artists."  During renovations, which start September 2nd, the hotel will be closed to guests.

The multi-million dollar renovation includes the rooms, restaurants and lobby.  The Colony is a landmarked hotel, a block south of Worth Avenue.

Renovations to its 90 rooms will include new color schemes and floral patterns, and new bed linens.  White bathrooms will get glow lights. High-tech new amenities will include smart TV's and Bluetooth-enabled telephones with built-in charges.

The hotel has a beautiful large room to fit a big audience, and I have attended Preservation Foundation events there.  It offers a beautiful location.
